Senior guard Cameron Bowens was honored on center court before last night's game against Lehigh Valley. Bowen's received a framed jersey from Chancellor Dr. Gnage as his senior gift from Mont Alto Athletics.
Comments from Head Coach Jack Schenzel on Bowen's…
For four years Cameron Bowens has been a solid contributor to the Mont Alto program. Cameron has been a captain for the last two years and helped lead the team back into playoff contention this season. In the season opening win against Christendom he scored a career high with 23 points. He has scored in double figures in 12 games this season including a stellar effort of 22 points against Brandywine on the road.
For his career Cameron has averaged around ten points a game. He is a team leader this year in several categories including three point shots made, three point shot percentage, charges taken, total points and free throw percentage.
Cameron has excelled at making some clutch shots in his career, none bigger to date, than the three point shot he hit from the corner against York with under ten seconds to win the game. He is not afraid of the moment and does what the team needs to be victorious.
As a leader he has helped mold a veteran group with a freshman class. He is always doing what is best for the team first. As a coach I have leaned on Cameron a great deal to help with the leadership aspects of the team on and off the court.
We would like to wish Cameron success in everything he does after he graduates. Based upon his work ethic on the court and in the
classroom we know that he will represent Mont Alto well in the
corporate world. If as a coach I had to use one word to describe
Cameron it would steady. He is where he needs to be and does what is needed all the time.
Cameron has made me a better coach and I hope that I have helped make him a better man.
