MONT ALTO, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto men's soccer team nearly had its first win of the 2018 season, but PSU York spoiled their efforts with a second half equalizer that sent the match into overtime. Neither Mont Alto nor PSU York could find the back of the net during 20 minutes of extra time as the match on Sunday afternoon concluded in a 1-1 draw.
Mont Alto controlled the flow and possession of the match in the opening minutes and was rewarded in the 14th minute when Joel Wadel (Saint Thomas, Pa. / James Buchanan) found the back of the net. Wadel scored the first goal in three matches for PSUMA as he connected on a Nate Hall (New Bloomfield, Pa. / West Perry) flick that caught the PSU York goalkeeper out of position.
