Mont Alto Volleyball at Gettysburg College Battlefield Classic
Mont Alto Volleyball competes in first tournament of the season
The Penn State Mont Alto Women's Volleyball team competed in the 2010 Battlefield Classic on September 3 and 4, hosted by Gettysburg College.
Friday night saw the team on the court for the first action of the season. The ladies struggled to get started against Westminster College, losing 8-25, 2-25, and 19-25. In the second round the team lost to Widener University, 19-25, 12-25, and 16-25.
On Saturday, the team started out strong against Rutgers-Camden, however lost in four games; 26-24, 21-25, 12-25, and 22-25. The final match of the tournament for the team was against Gallaudet University. Mont Alto was not able to find a win, losing 14-25, 18-25, and 21-25.
The team will continue play on Wednesday against Harrisburg Area Community College at 7 p.m. for their first home match of the year.
