Marygrove and University of Dallas defeat Mont Alto in last Two Matches at Nationals

The Mont Alto ladies showed up today and put up a great day of volleyball against both teams.  They completed the tournament today losing in the last two matches of pool play against University of Dallas  0-2 and Marygrove 0-2.

Playing well against University of Dallas, the team pushed them hard in the first set and worked on both serving and defense.

Against Marygrove, the team fought the good fight.  Focusing on serving and hitting, the team was able to compete with them for most of the match. In the final set of the season for Mont Alto, middle hitter Lora Wenger was injured as a Marygrove player came under the net and under her foot.  Wenger had to come out which changed the play of the game around.  Losing their hitter in the middle, the team lost their rhythm.

"The team will travel home tomorrow with their heads held high, knowing that they played a better round of pool play this year than last year, and know that with some work in the off-season and next year's preseason, they can make a better run at Nationals in 2011," Head Coach Drue Hoffman explains.
