Mont Alto hosts Hood College

Mont Alto Women's Volleyball hosted Hood College on Friday evening, playing them for the second time this season.  Although the Blazers won three sets, the Lady Lions played strong.

The first set Mont Alto fell 11-25.  But the next two were down to the last few points.  Mont Alto challenged Hood and fell by just two points, 25-27 in the second set.  The third set was another close one, 24-26.  This was a major improvement for Mont Alto from their last match against the Blazers at Hood earlier in September, they fell 25-4, 25-15, 25-17.

"I am so pleased with the way our team played tonight; they kept the intensity up the whole match and did not allow themselves to get down," Head Coach Jenn Stremmel comments.  "I cannot be happier with the way our team has improved."

Ashlyn Blank had 10 kills and Chai Kline contributed with seven. The whole team played well on defense with Chandler Coldsmith and Katrina Oyler having 12 digs and Mary Hackney recording 10.  Blank also tallied nine digs and Gretchen Robinson with eight.  Oyler had a double-double tonight with 13 assists and 12 digs.

Mont Alto will be home Saturday September 22nd against York for a 12 p.m. match.
