Baseball completes late comeback, Kissel earns win 200
Baseball: Penn State Mont Alto 20, Christendom 11
MONT ALTO, Pa.- Down 9-0 in the 5th inning, the Penn State Mont Alto offense found its footing and rallied to tie the non-conference matchup with Christendom. They would go on to score seven in the sixth and two more runs in each of the seventh and eighth to win 20-11. Cameron Bailey (7) and James Sibert (6) each recorded more than 5 RBI and Bailey led the power surge with two home runs in the contest.
John Copenhaver started off the fifth inning with a single down the left field line and Nick Leckert followed that up with a single through the right side. Sibert later scored both with a double to left. Braden Zeger and Wyatt Kissel both singled and Cameron Bailey plated both with a 3 RBI home run to center field. Mont Alto combined for nine runs and six hits in the inning.
Bailey once again capped off a Mont Alto rally with a grand slam to left field to push Mont Alto ahead 16-9 after six innings. Edmund Thomas trimmed the deficit to just five when he hit his second home run to right field.
Sibert and Garrett Rosenberry both had key RBI triples in the seventh and eighth innings respectively to push Mont Alto ahead 19-11.
Cameron Niland picked up the win in relief as he went 2.2 innings and allowed two runs while striking out three Christendom hitters.
Head Coach Shawn Kissel picked up career win number 200 in the victory as Mont Alto improves to 24-12 on the season.
