Men's Basketball: Penn State Mont Alto 74, Penn State Lehigh Valley 66 (OT)

LEHIGH COUNTY, Pa.- Mont Alto men's basketball traveled to Lehigh Valley on Tuesday evening for some PSUAC action. Mont Alto survived a close game in overtime, besting the home squad 74-66. Mont Alto forward Veron Talla finished the game with 1,001 career points, eclipsing 1,000 career points. Talla was tied for the team lead with 14 points, Richard Burke also had 14 points for Mont Alto and going 8-8 from the foul line. With Mont Alto leading 63-61 with 27 seconds left in regulation, Chizitere Opara pushed the Mont Alto lead to three with 18 seconds remaining. Emmanuel Kenyi, who led all scorers with 30 points, tied the game on a three pointer to go to overtime at 64-64.

The Mont Alto defense hung tough, not allowing a single field goal in the overtime period. Talla (5), Mbergan (3) and Burke (2) scored the ten points in the extra frame for Mont Alto. The Nittany Lions were able to seal the game at the charity stripe by going 6-7 in OT. Mont Alto scored 34 of its 74 points from the line by shooting 34 of 44 (77%).
