Men's Basketball extends win streak to eight with 108-96 win at Scranton
Men's Basketball: Penn State Mont Alto 108, Penn State Scranton 96
DUNMORE, Pa.- Penn State Mont Alto men's basketball took on Penn State Scranton Tuesday evening winning 108-96, moving to 13-4 overall and 7-2 in the PSUAC. The win also extended their current winning streak to eight games. Veron Talla extended his consecutive double-double games to six with a career-high 34 points and 13 rebounds. Saihou Mbergan provided 19 points off the bench while Jonathan Pang and Lawson Hopkins each chipped in 14. Elijah Bryant had a game-high 42 points for Scranton.
Mont Alto bursted out of the gate by scoring 53 points in the game's opening half, holding Scranton to just 34 points. Talla (15), Mbergan (11) and Pang (10) led the way for Mont Alto as they shot 54.3% in the half and 8-16 from the foul line. Mont Alto controlled the game for much of the second half as Scranton tried to get within double-digits, as Elijah Bryant made a layup to cut the lead to 94-83. Bryant made a three and Jaiden Wiggins made a layup following a Mont Alto turnover to trim the deficit to eight at 100-92. Mont Alto sealed the game at the foul line to win 108-96 as they went 30-46 from the line as a team.
