Mont Alto falls to #1 York 67-64
Men's Basketball: Penn State York 67, Penn State Mont Alto 64
YORK, Pa.- Mont Alto men's basketball traveled to Penn State York on Saturday in a matchup amongst the top two teams in the PSUAC East Division. In a back and forth effort all game, Mont Alto came up short on a final shot once again to York losing 67-64. With the score tied 61-61 with 1:39 remaining, York's Quentin Wells shot a three pointer and was fouled on the attempt by Richard Burke. Wells sunk all three free throws and put York ahead 64-61. Terrell Neal made a bucket on the following possession as Mont Alto trailed 66-61. Lawson Hopkins scored the next three points for Mont Alto at the line as Mont Alto trailed 66-64 with nine seconds left.
Wells missed a foul shot giving Mont Alto one final opportunity with six seconds on the clock, their final tying three point attempt came up short. Richard Burke and Sam Larbi were the leading scorers for Mont Alto with 15 points each. Veron Talla and Lawson Hopkins were close behind with 12 points each. Terrell Neal was the leading scorer for York with a game-high 23.
