Women's Basketball: Penn State Mont Alto 61, Central Penn 35
MONT ALTO, Pa.- Mont Alto women's basketball hosted Central Penn on Saturday in their 2025-26 home opener. Dariana Perez led the way for Mont Alto with 28 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.
Victoria Kalp and Daijah Wallace each scored 10 points in the winning effort. The Mont Alto defense was aggressive all afternoon as they held Central Penn to 28.6% shooting from the field and forced 23 turnovers.
Mont Alto was able to gain control after the first quarter by gaining a significant advantage on the boards with 53 total rebounds to Central Penn's 28. Shanez Morales was one of those key factors on the boards with 13 total rebounds, leading all players.
Icys Carroll led the way for Central Penn with 13 points on 5 of 20 shooting.
With the win, Mont Alto Head Coach Mark Zacher picked up his first win at Penn State Mont Alto.
