Women's Basketball: Penn State Mont Alto 71, Penn State Shenango 57
SHARON, Pa.- Penn State Mont Alto women's basketball earned a strong away victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating Penn State Shenango 71–57 behind dominant performances from Dariana Perez and Victoria Kalp. Perez led all scorers with 33 points and added 9 rebounds, 9 steals, and 3 assists, while Kalp followed closely with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Mont Alto set the tone early as Perez and Kalp pushed the tempo and attacked the rim, building an early advantage that they carried throughout the first half. Consistent defensive pressure from the Nittany Lions forced Shenango into turnovers and limited them to 20% shooting from three, helping Mont Alto enter halftime with momentum. In the second half, Shenango attempted to close the gap behind scoring from Kylie Krupp and Alyssa Crankfield, but Mont Alto continued to answer on the offensive end. Strong interior rebounding from Shanez Morales and timely defensive stops preserved the lead as Mont Alto maintained control. Mont Alto closed out the game at the free-throw line, finishing 24 of 32 from the stripe, and secured the 71–57 victory to cap off an impressive team effort.
