Women's Soccer: Christendom 2, Penn State Mont Alto 1
FRONT ROYAL, Va.- The Mont Alto women's soccer team traveled to Front Royal, Virginia on Thursday afternoon for non-conference action. Madison Eberly recorded an early goal on an assist from Grace Lochner in the first minute.
That goal would be the only goal for Mont Alto on the afternoon as Christendom responded with two second half goals to win 2-1 in a rematch from the season opener. Ava Hudson tied the game in the 52nd minute on an assist from Maddie Lee.
Claire Santschi provided the game winner for the home squad in the 77th minute on an assist from Hudson. Christendom controlled the SOG battle, outshooting Mont Alto 11-3. Kira Weikert stopped 9 of her 11 shot attempts faced.
Eberly led the offensive efforts with two shots on goal for Mont Alto and Gloria Ackla had a team-high three SOG for Christendom.
