MONT ALTO, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto volleyball program released its 2019 schedule on Thursday afternoon, which features 10 home contests and 12 matches on the road or at neutral locations. The schedule includes 14 games against Pennsylvania State University (PSUAC) West opponents and a non-conference Division III tilt against crosstown rival Wilson College.

The Nittany Lions are slated to compete in the USCAA Volleyball Tip-off Tournament on Friday, August 30 with the tournament hosted by Penn State Beaver. Mont Alto will open play up against Carlow University and then will square off against Penn State Greater Allegheny later in the day. The following week will see Mont Alto make its home debut on Thursday, September 5 against Penn State York. The squad will then play in back-to-back days taking on Christendom College (September 7) and then Penn State Shenango (September 8).
Mont Alto will remain at home for three-straight home matches beginning with a PSUAC contest against New Kensington, followed by another conference match against Greater Allegheny and the homestand concludes against Christendom College on Saturday, September 14. The Nittany Lions will then continue PSUAC play on the road against Penn State Beaver (September 15) and Penn State Fayette on Wednesday, September 18. A day later will see the squad square off against crosstown rival Wilson College at 7 p.m. Mont Alto will end the month of September with a home match against Penn State DuBois (September 22) with the following weekend slated as a PSUAC Crossover Weekend in University Park, Pa.
The month of October will see PSUMA hit the road for all but three of their eight matches beginning with a pair of conference contests against Penn State New Kensington (October 1) and Penn State Greater Allegheny (October 5). All three of the home matches will be right in a row beginning with a non-conference affair with Valley Forge (October 7), followed by a match with PSU Beaver (October 9) and concluding against Penn State Fayette on Saturday, October 12. The team will then participate in a tri-match at Penn State DuBois facing them as well as Cincinnati Clermont on Saturday, October 19. The regular season concludes on October 20 with a PSUAC matchup against Shenango.
The Nittany Lions fell in a hard fought four-set match to eventual PSUAC Champions, Penn State Fayette and finished the 2018 season with a 12-13 overall record and were 4-6 within the conference. The squad will surely look to make a return trip to the PSUAC Postseason Tournament.
