Volleyball defeats Christendom in four sets on road
Penn State Mont Alto 3, Christendom 1 (15-25, 25-17, 25-13, 25-11)
Front Royal, Va.- The Penn State Mont Alto volleyball team made the short trek to Front Royal, Va to take on Christendom College in non-conference volleyball action on Tuesday evening. Despite dropping the first set 25-15, Mont Alto was able to rally back in the last three sets to win in four.
Arianna Davey controlled the match from her middle hitter position, recording 11 kills on 16 attack attempts. Shea Leber was second on the team in kills with nine. Lucy Stahl was Christendom's leading attacker with 14 kills and Serenity Fedoryka added 10. Brooklynn Sheridan assisted on 21 of Mont Alto's 28 kills. Andrea Lammi-McLean recorded 12 digs with Ashlyn Vandenbree close behind with 10. Elisabeth Reese (16), Lucy Stahl (12), Aimee Simpson (10) and Kate Reese (10) all recorded double-digit digs for the Crusaders.
Abigail Wagner and Davey were key at the net registering two solo blocks a piece in the winning effort. With Tuesday's win, Mont Alto now improves to 2-3 on the young season.
