Mont Alto Athletics Tentatively Moves Its Summer Camps & Clinics to the Month of August

MONT ALTO, Pa. – In accordance with a university-wide decision regarding all Penn State summer camps, the Penn State Mont Alto athletic department has made the decision to move all its intended summer camps and clinics to the month of August. The decision to delay summer camps gives the University additional time to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure the health and safety of both campers and staff.
Camp fees that have already been collected will be honored at the later dates. For the campers and their families that have already signed up they will receive updated information regarding the intended camps or clinics. Dates: August 3-7, 2020
Session Times: 7-12 year olds 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 12-18 year olds 3:15 p.m.-5:15 p.m. *Children who are 12 will have the option to attend either session based on experience level*
Ages: 7-18 year olds
Cost: $85
Sessions include: A co-ed soccer skills and training summer camp designed to stimulate a love for the game showing youth athletes how to accelerate their own progress and success. This five-day camp provides a fun and competitive environment for players of all ability levels. Ages: Open to female volleyball players in 7th through 12th grade
Cost: $100
Session includes: This camp is designed for high school players aspiring to play at the college level. Advanced individual skills and elite game-like drills will be the focus of this week-long camp. The main goal is to give individual attention to each camper as we hope to prepare them for peak club/high school performance as well as preparation for collegiate competition. Within the camp, participants will be split into intermediate and advanced groups based on their experience level.

Date: Sunday, August 9, 2020
Session Time: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Ages: Open to female softball players in 7th-12th grade. Registration is limited to first 20 sign-ups!
Cost: $75
Sessions include: Join the Mont Alto Softball coaching staff and several of its student-athletes for a one-day session to learn, improve and polish your individual softball skills. This camp is designed for student-athletes in grades 7-12 with drills and activities for individual and groups geared to challenge each campers' ability to get them ready for the collegiate game. All players must bring their own: glove, bat & helmet and if you're a catcher, your gear. We also ask that if you're a pitcher that you bring your own catcher.

Session Times: 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Ages: Open to all wrestlers in 6th through 12th grade. Registration is limited to first 20 sign-ups!
Cost: $50
Sessions include: A hands-on clinic where wrestlers in sixth to twelfth grades will learn skills and concepts of Olympic-style wrestling (Freestyle/Greco) from the Penn State Mont Alto coaching staff along with a few former All-American PSUMA student-athletes. Attendees will learn different techniques ranging from throws (back step and back arch), offensive scoring and non-control scoring from standing position, and par terre wrestling (offensive scoring and defensive techniques). Technique will relate to all three styles, including folk style.

Session Time: 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Ages: CO-ED, 4-7 year olds
Cost: $50
Session includes: Campers at the Penn State Mont Alto Kiddie Camp will be introduced to the most basic soccer fundamentals through station work, games, and other soccer related activities. Open to any and all boys and girls ages 4-7, campers will work directly with Mont Alto coaches, student-athletes, and support staff in a fun filled and action packed 3 evenings. Camp will conclude on Thursday with the participants receiving a FREE Mont Alto Soccer t-shirt.
