MONACA, Pa.- Penn State Mont Alto used an RBI single from AJ Millar (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) and plated an insurance run in the fourth inning to earn the 2-0 win over PSU Beaver. PSUMA were unable to take both games of Saturday's doubleheader as Beaver recorded a come from behind victory, scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning of the nightcap to earn the split.
Penn State Mont Alto 2, Penn State Beaver 0
- Lowell Singer (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring) avoided trouble and scattered five hits to earn his second win of the season. The tall right-handed senior recorded seven punch-outs.
- Mont Alto went up 1-0 on the Millar RBI single that plated Hunter Martin (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) and the team nursed the lead until adding an insurance run in the fourth inning. Colby Black (Shippensburg, Pa. / Big Spring) reached on a fielder's choice as Chayse Fisher (Mercersburg, Pa. / James Buchanan) scored the unearned run.
- Fisher went 3-for-4 with the team managing eight hits.

- PSU Beaver got off to a good start and managed a run in the bottom of the first off of starter Jeremiah Younker (Hagerstown, Md. / Williamsport). With the runner in scoring position, Justyn Francona produced an RBI single to put his team up.
- That run turned out to be the only one in which Younker gave up as Beaver scored of its winning runs off of reliever Chance McClure (Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) who was unable to get out of a jam for the save in the final inning.
- PSUMA scored both of its runs in the top of the fourth frame. Hunter Martin (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) sliced an RBI single and Millar drove in the other run on a double.
- Christian James scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game up at two runs apiece. Beaver earned the walk-off win when Francona singled home Stefan Romaniuk.
- Fisher went 2-for-3 and is hitting a team-best .491 early on.
Mont Alto returns to action tomorrow when it host Penn State Beaver for a nine-inning contest at 3 p.m.
