Volleyball drops two in regular season finale
Volleyball: Penn State Hazleton 3, Penn State Mont Alto 1 (12-25, 21-25, 25-17, 24-26)
HAZLETON, Pa.- Mont Alto volleyball traveled to Penn State Hazleton on Saturday afternoon for a tri-match with Hazleton and King's College (Pa.).
Mont Alto dropped the opener to Penn State Hazleton in four sets. Elizabeth Trella 10 kills (.292) and Shanez Morales 10 kills (.421) led the offense for Mont Alto. Ashlyn Vandenbree 21 digs and Sydney Tracey 12 were the key defenders in the match. Abigail Wagner was a force at the net with six blocking assists.
Sydney Mack and Claire Riera-Gomez combined for 33 of Hazleton's 58 kills in the match. Those two both accumulated 14 digs on the defensive end for the Nittany Lions.
Volleyball: King's College 3, Penn State Mont Alto 0 (17-25, 21-25, 19-25)
HAZLETON, Pa.- Mont Alto volleyball dropped its regular season finale to King's College in three sets on Saturday afternoon.
Trella was the standout offensively converting 11 kills on her 22 attacks (.455). Ashlyn Vandenbree (21) and Brooklynn Sheridan (11) combined for 32 of Mont Alto's 58 digs.
King's College was led by Lindsey Arezina and Madisyon Heizer-Elsea who each recorded ten kills. Izzy Deluco (16), Ariela Towsey (14) and Morgan Williams (10) each had double digit assists.
